The Importance of Reconnecting
I am on my way to the airport this morning to return to Pensacola. It’s been a busy but blessed few days away. Tuesday night I had the privilege of preaching at Calvary Baptist Church in Rock Hill, South Carolina. There was a great spirit in the meeting and it was good to spend time with Pastor Tom Tucker.
Wednesday and Thursday nights I preached for the Dekalb County, Alabama Hope 4U Crusade. There was excitement and passion for Christ which was evident both nights. My heart was challenged and encouraged. It was an honor to preach the first two evenings. Tonight Rick Burgess will preach the closing message and Big Daddy Weave will be the musical guests.
Dekalb County is close to where I grew up and the area in which my parents still live. Many of my close friends, former teachers, and neighbors still reside there. I had a great time catching up with a number of them and being reminded of the impact they had on my life. These are people who encouraged me to seek the Lord, work hard, and to take time to enjoy simple things. Those are important things of which to be reminded. I would encourage you to take time to reconnect with someone who made a difference in your life.
I am looking forward to being back in with the Olive family this weekend. Sunday night is Upward Basketball Awards celebration in the Worship Center. It’s always a fun and high-energy time.
Remember to set your clocks forward one hour when you go to bed Saturday night!
