Monopoly

This has been a big week in America. Tuesday’s election has been news. Everywhere I go I am asked how I liked the results. Potential for correction is in the air. However, nothing has changed at this time. As one man said, “It wasn’t an election but a restraining order.”

If the new crowd in Washington does not get after the economic issues they will not be there long. Taxes are on the agenda. Will the rates remain or go up? That is a huge question facing us in January. What will the new national budget look like? I encourage you to mark your calendars for December 1. That is the day President Obama’s National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform reports its findings. Watch the news closely. This will be big time. I would suggest you go to the website and read their job description.

Today is the 75th anniversary of the board game Monopoly. It is a fun family activity. It teaches you to save and build. Risk is also involved. But it is done with fake money. The American Community Chest is in need of repair. Let’s pray for new leaders to come together and get the house in order. If they do not, they will not pass GO or collect $200.
