FBC Jacksonville Pastors’ Conference

February 2nd, 2010

Today I am at First Baptist Church Jacksonville attending the annual pastors’ conference. It is a refreshing time for me. Connecting with many young pastors and spending time friends has been encouraging to my soul.

In last night’s session I preached a message entitled “Navigating Good News and Good Works” from Luke 4:17-21. It was a great opportunity to share about the work God is raising up through the Ministry Village. The emphasis was on the current outreach being done through the Charis House. The Spirit moved and the Lord did a mighty work in the hearts of attendees. I am humbled when I watch God’s vision embraced and Kingdom work birthed. Great days are ahead.

Sunday was a marvelous day in the life of Olive. Many of you have emailed to share how the Lord has used suffering in your lives to bring glory to Him. Our study continues this Sunday with godliness, which is the calling of submission.

    Pastor,
Like your friend says you are heart, passion and persistence! Each Sunday as I sit in the congregation, listening to God speak through you, encourages me to be not just a hearer of the Word but also a doer of the Word. Thank you for your transparency, obedience to God and speaking the Truth to us. I have been told revival causes discomfort in the Church, like being uncomfortable sitting in a chair too long, the way to solve the discomfort is to get up and move around. In other words Be a Doer! May His face shine upon you always and forever. Thanks again for your love for the lost. For I was lost and now I am found. Amen.
    In His Name,
    Michelle Dycus
